Northern Highlands Junior Football & Cheerleading Association

Commitment to Safety

The Northern Highlands Junior Football and Cheerleading Association puts safety first.  All coaches are required to attend and be certified by the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. clinic.  The clinic includes a 3 hour program on:

  • The legal aspects of coaching
  • Psychological aspects of coaching
  • General coaching concepts
  • Training & conditioning athletes
  • Medical/first aid aspects of coaching

     

    In conjunction with the police and recreation departments of Allendale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Saddle River and Upper Saddle River, all coaches undergo fingerprinting as part of a thorough background check.
